Giclees...
Giclée, commonly pronounced "zhee-clay," is an invented term for the process of making fine art prints from a digital source using ink-jet printing. The word “giclée”, from the French language word "gicleur" meaning "nozzle", was created by Jack Duganne, a printmaker working in the field, to represent any inkjet based digital print used as fine art. The intent of that name was to distinguish commonly known industrial "Iris proofs" from the type of fine art prints artists were producing on those same types of printers. The term, originally applied to fine art prints created on Iris printers in a process invented in the early 1990s but has since come to mean any high quality ink-jet print.
From the above description: a Giclee is a print from an ink jet printer. The Giclees offered here were printed on canvas then mounted to a piece of masonite. Two coats of Multi Surface Sealer were then applied to assure that the print was permanent. These giclees are in the 2nd or 3rd stage of the “dead layer” (think of value paintings) giving you a good head start.

Printing Tips...
The E-packet comes complete with several photographs, line drawings, and step by step instructions for the artist to paint along with.
You are saving postage and time as epackets can be delivered almost instantly. Wonderful if you are overseas or have to worry about customs. However, the end result will only be as good as the attention you put into printing it out. While regular, inexpensive copy paper is good enough for emails, recipes and other text content, good images require a little bit more.
Purchase a good quality premium or Bright White paper for the brand of printer you have. [e.g. HP- HP Premium paper, Canon - Canon Paper] Matching the paper to your printer brand usually produces better results. It doesn't have to be photo paper. Make sure you have enough ink in your cartridge before you start. Learn how to print only the pages you want. Don't just automatically hit print. Take a moment to look through each page on a print preview and decide if you need them all, then make your selection.
Printed pages are not usually waterproof so a little extra care is required here also. Use plastic sheet protectors. If your monitor is in your studio you may not need to print it out at all. Copyright applies to epackets as much as printed works, so please respect the artist and don't be tempted to share your epacket.
New! Painting Stroke Roses
Instructional DVD
It is just fantastic!
I have never been able to attend a seminar or a convention, and so I had to rely on books and magazines to try and understand how to paint those marvellous stroke roses. Well, watching Susan paint roses in every detail was a real eye opener!! My roses are finally beginning to look like...well, roses, instead of like diseased cabbages.
I always assumed that such roses were "born" from perfectly placed strokes done with perfectly double-loaded brushes, almost in "one fell swoop". Watching Susan, I realized that of course she makes beautiful strokes , but.....she goes back over each, adjusts the colour, adds a highlight, strenghtens a shadow, even glazes over the whole already painted rose with one colour and does the strokes again!! WOW!!!! It's a really fantastic learning experience and I'm glad I got it.
